In 2011 we moved to a small farm to grow vegetables. We had no experience, no money, but we did have a lot of determination. The first month on this farm we took in a miniature steer, named him T-bone. He was adorable and is still the king of the pasture. Rex, a Shetland pony came a few weeks later and the two have been inseparable since. We didn't know it then, but this was the start of The Good Earth Farm Animal Sanctuary. The farm and the work that I do on it has changed from growing vegetables for a 400 person CSA to growing for our woodfired pizzas and salsas. Today's version of the farm is not what I had imagined it to be 16 years ago. But both Jeff and I knew the first time we drove down the gravel driveway that there was something special about this place. Something that needed to be shared.
