My name is Nina Cardona - I'm the morning host of 90.3 WPLN, Nashville's Public Radio News Network.
My job is to arm the public with the information they need to make informed decisions in their daily lives, and to help them figure out where they can plug into their communities to do the most good.
Public media is more than just a news source - it's the backbone of much of the basic infrastructure that provides communities around the country with vital information, both in their day to day lives and during emergencies.
Public media today faces existential threats, as we lose government funding and confront a volatile political environment - but my faith in the people we serve never wavers.
We're not going anywhere.
