I am using my herbalism practice and artistry through the curation of AfroFlare Salon, a sanctuary for Black women navigating skin conditions. Navigating with my own skin condition that causes chronic inflammation, I began to meditate on the word “flare.” I was inspired to build a space for myself and other Black women and marginalized genders navigating skin conditions so that they can reclaim beauty in their bodies.
