In nonprofit work, every person has a part to play, and each helping hand is just as important as the next. As someone who works in administration, being "Behind the Scenes" is crucial for the pillars of our organization to continue to stand strong. Being able to build a community that provides food support and other resources to thousands of people a week is no easy task. I do what I do because I see the importance of having well-oiled systems that allow operations to run smoothly, insuring everyone receive what they need. I see the plethora of people who write in to us every day looking for light at the end of their tunnels, and it is such a privilege to not only be a voice of encouragement, but also able to fulfill practical needs. I fully believe that no human should have to struggle, go without food, or clothes. We should all choose to see each other - really SEE one another and be willing to rally together as community to make a difference in the lives of those around us. I've learned that even if majority of my work is done behind a screen, I still have a vital part to play, and it doesn't make my words or my prayers any less powerful. Getting to bless people is even more of a blessing to me in return.
